👔 Men’s Basic Wardrobe. There is a lot of information about basic wardrobe for women, but no one speaks a lot about men. Men also care about how they look and what message their clothes send to the world. I decided to create a list of basic wardrobe items for average man who has office work without strict dress code. List: 1. Coat - length to the knee, double breasted or single breasted (your choice), I’d recommend to start with navy blue color, because it’s easy to match with the rest of the clothes. 2. Bomber jacket- to wear with more casual outfits. Choose neutral color that you like ( navy, green, burgundy, beige, etc.) 3. Casual Blazer - same rules apply. 4. Navy blue suit - I don’t think it needs explanation. 5. Formal white and blue shirts. 6. Basic white and black t-shirts with crew neck. ( Note T-shirts with logos even small e.g. Abercrombie and Hollister that all men love are NOT basic). 7. Turtle neck and crew neck sweaters ( use them for layering). 8. Cardigan ( classic navy blue color, adds nice elegant touch to your outfits.) 9. 2-3 pairs of chinos ( can’t imagine men’s wardrobe without it, choose neutral colors and start with navy blue.) 10. Dark blue jeans. 11. Polo ( again no logos, neutral color) 12. White classic cotton shorts ( casual summer outfit) 13. Black Chelsea boots. 14. Black Oxford shoes 15. Brown Derby. 16. Classic white sneakers. 17. Black and brown leather belts. 18. Laptop bag. 19. Brown or black sun glasses. Only after having complete basic wardrobe you can start adding extras. 🛍 Wardrobe of the future. The wardrobe of the future contains high quality and minimum quantity garments. The main current trends are conscious consumption, recycling, and upcycling. Nowadays it’s normal for celebrities to wear the same gown more than once to different events. For instance, Naomi Campbell wore twice the same gown in 1998 and in 2015. Helen Mirren loved her black dress with a green flower-print created by Dolce & Gabbana so much — that she wore it quite often from 2013-2015. Tiffany Haddish, an actress and a stand-up comedian bought a white dress created by Alexander McQueen for $4,000 in 2017. She has already worn it 3 times since then. And many more... There’re options to help environment, save your money and look beautiful - one of them is rent instead of buy. Nowadays there are many services that allow your to rent outfit, wear it to an event and return.
