Web Summit 2019 Takeaways I had a very interesting experience of the Web Summit – one of the largest IT conferences with 70,000 attendees👀 The few insights I gained as a result of this experience - 1️⃣ At the Ventures it was extremely interesting to explore how & why Investors select start-ups. Having a well-formed team, tenacity and a long-term (10 or more years) vision for their company were one of the big factors, not mentioning the sense of a mission. 2️⃣ I have barely attended any talks as I was interested in meeting people. What I’ve realised that the majority actually hate networking, & more so, they hate selling themselves or talking about their work. “Oh, I just work for this company doing boring stuff” or “Ehm, I’m with this start-up, but actually I don’t really work for them” and so on… There was a bunch of Ukrainian programmers with whom we had our inner joke that they were professionals at “cold selling themselves”😅 3️⃣ My main aim was to assess start-up needs for an Explainer video (a short video, 1 min or less, which explains & visualises clearly your business idea & helps you generate or convert leads). 💫It turned out that Alpha and even Betta start-ups would spend ages explaining their concept, the features & how they work…& considering that most of them offer complex technical IT solutions, it would take them aaages to get through their spiel before asking, “…and what’s your interest and why are you talking to us?” On average about 10 mins of my time, I felt, went down the drain😭, even though I loved exploring new cool business ideas and getting a grasp on the current market trends hands-on… 🤔 This experience has also made me more convinced that it’s better to have a 1 or 3 minute explainer video, which is a clear visual representation of what are the typical scenarios of your product use; what pain-points you're tackling and which way you can improve someone’s life?🦸‍♂️ If you or someone you know will benefit from having a cool & effective explainer video, don’t hesitate to DM me and I’ll find the way I can help & tell you more about our video production process ❤️📹💙 #radial_video #videomarketing

Here is an interesting observation of mine that Entrepreneurs engage in a lot of activities, which play up to typically attributed women strength. I do understand that the topic of gender equality and feminism can be a minefield and that all women and all men are different🙈. And this post is not about: “Hey! I’m a feminist, go women! Hurray!” Nope… it’s more about the exploration of the essence of entrepreneurship. It’s good to have a clear picture of who an entrepreneur is and his or her role. So, the person, who starts a company and then runs it, is not necessarily an entrepreneur per se. The role of a person, who runs and manages a company is the role of a CEO. It’s just at initial stages of a company an entrepreneur can also perform functions of a CEO. I like they way @aiazshabudtinov explains An entrepreneur is a person who 1.  Comes up with an idea for a business 2.  Finds resources: finance and people to start a business 3.  Creates a vision for the company and inspires stakeholders to support it, including company workers, clients, customers, suppliers, investors and the whole lot. It could be a big fat generalization on my side. But, would you agree that women more often than not tend to be good at coming up with various ideas and being creative. They are good at spotting problems and figuring out how they can be solved or ways of how things can be improved. Because women are more nurturing and we want to take care of things. Women are good at inspiring and supporting others, being a muse. Communicating with different types of people, building rapport, connecting with them. Having to ask people to help you, instead of doing everything on your own and in business paying those, who help you for their time and effort. And because they are so many different areas and aspects to creating and running a business, you’re every single day is going to be different. To me, it seems that men can handle mundane routine better than women. ❤️Would you agree that there is some truth to this? 🤔

This post, I suppose, is going to be my official "coming out" of the closet. You know the way there are anonymous alcoholic societies, where people declare their addictions. Here is the moment of revelation and the real reason, why I moved to Russia more than 5 years ago. I got knocked up 🙊and it was easier to raise my child having the support of my family! Her name is Anna 🧚‍♀️ OK, I'm only messing! That's my little niece and she's adorable 😍  Also she's my source of inspiration and fresh perspective 🦄 She loves helping, she'll jump at every opportunity to assist you and she knows, where everything is around the house, which is rather handy 😄 🌈 Anna is very quick at switching between tasks:at one moment she's watching a cartoon, the next, even before the end of the cartoon, she's already set up the domino's and ready to play 🎨 Loves drawing. Only we suffer from the Saliery and Mozart complex. Anna does not take it well, when someone draws better than her. But then she's really quick at copying more advanced drawings of others, which brings her back into her good spirits. 💕 And she just has a very loving heart, she tells to all of our family members "I love you" and kisses till your cheeks have stains on them from her "vacume cleaner style" of kissing 😂 #Niece and #auntie Dasha ❤️

In my case, this will involve breaking some old habits, adopting new ways of thinking and starting doing things I've never done before. «Маленькая предновогодняя сказка»✨. Мы перенесёмся на 15ть лет назад, когда Даша, не разговаривала на английском и ей было…тоже - 15ть 🙂 За моими плечами был школьный английский, индивидуальные занятия с репетиром советской закалки, Маргаритой Вячеславовной, для которой party – это был званный ужин, а не вечеринка, и занятия в English First; c американским парнем Томом, на занятиях у которого, моё лицо наливалось краской и я сидела, красная, как томат! В 15ть на вопрос моего папы, хотела бы я год поучиться в международной школе в Израиле и научиться разговаривать на английском я ответила «да»! 😀 Такая возможность подумала я, пока родители поддерживают, надо ей воспользоваться! Год был «весёлым», а скорее просто тяжелым. Я преодолевала языковой барьер. На уроке литературы, когда я выступала с докладом о Ромэо и Джульетте, мои одноклассники скатывались вниз по стулу и ржали над моим акцентом. Кучка недалёких парней из класса ниже, подумали, что я «легкая добыча», над который очень весело подтрунивать и говорить мне всякие бяки… Когда я хотела что-то сказать, я сначала переводила свои мысли с русского на английский, а потом, набравшись храбрости подходила к одноклассникам и говорила, про себя я очень надеялась, что я пойму их ответы и смогу продолжить беседу. Естественно, я не была суперпопулярной девочкой и общаться с человеком, который не может свободно разговаривать, никто не стремился.😔 Тогда я осознала для себя один принцип, если я не буду подходить к людям и инициировать общение, то со мной никто общаться не будет, а самое главное я не научусь разговаривать на английском. Поэтому я выбрала себе в жертву одну девочку-ботанку Мэдэви из Шри Ланки и старалась максимально общаться с ней, хотя она от меня периодически сбегала в библиотеку. В начале года от мозговой перегрузки я приходила домой и падала плашмя на кровать. В течении года, ощущая жёсткую нехватку слов, помимо школы и выполнения всех предметов на английском я ещё старалась читать книги и выписывать незнакомые слова… Как-то нужно было выживать… Сейчас спустя столько лет, после Израильской школы, после моего последующего переезда в Ирландию и 9ти летнего проживания там и ...👀👇
