Brussels is a European version of Moscow. And here is why. ⠀ Of course these cities are pretty different. But to my surprise, there are a few things I found that make them share a very common vibe. ⠀ 1) Multinationality👥 Just as Moscow, Brussels is home to people from all over the world. A large part of its population is made up by immigrants. ⠀ 2) Architectural chaos🏢 Sure both Brussels and Moscow have their unique landmarks. But overall the architecture of the two is a wild blend of all different styles and eras. ⠀ 3) Always under construction 🚧 Both cities are filled with construction and renovation sites which never seem to end. ⠀ 4) Politics and business 👔 A high concentration of political and business life is a distinct feature of the two capitals. ⠀ 5) Creepy railway stations 🚞 Historical centers are absolutely stunning. Clean, perfectly maintained and pretty safe. But the closer you get to the railway stations the creepier it becomes. Trash on the streets, homeless people and scammers, all of which make the stations the most unpleasant places in these cities. ⠀ Sure, you may say that many other cities fit this description. And you will be right. The Rheinhafen centre of arts and media is one of the new landmarks of Germany's Düsseldorf. The outer material of the building is chosen to reflect the northern and southern buildings of the complex thus creating a link between the three.
