•S I X M O N T H S• & halfway to one🥺😭 Oh, how I wish I could pause time. Little babe is growing fast and outgrowing all his clothes! His hair is coming in and turns out the red comes from his paternal pop pop's side, so this kiddo might be a redhead after all! He is talking so much now and grabs everything in his sight! We've started on some solids now, all purees, but also thinking about doing BLW. Dang, I can't believe Aaron is going to be eating solids now😱. Still sleeping like a champ, no sleep regressions as of yet🤞🏻🤞🏻. Still working on sitting & is spending more time on his tummy, reaching for all of his big brother's toys. This kiddo is so funny in the morning. He still wakes up really early and talks to himself, quiet loudly I might add, and just hangs until I get him (little dude sure loves the sound of his voice hehe). I love to see his little face light up as soon as he sees me, my huge smile mirroring his own. Life sure is different with two, maybe a little harder some days too, but I am grateful I get to care for you, to hold you in my arms and snuggle you, to raise you along with your big brother. So yesterday was the Mondayest Monday ever. I guess it was one of those days that no matter what you do, things are just not bound to go your way? At least it felt like that to me. It was a hard day, but the end was a lot sweeter than I thought it would be. A day filled with huge messes, potty training fails, metldowns and attitudes, and way too much laundry ended on a sweet note with a trip to the park, just Lucas and I. It was what he needed and what I needed too, fresh air and the late setting sun on our skin. Sweet moments like watching Lucas smile and laugh and just be a happy kiddo is what reminds me that even though motherhood isn't perfect, I wouldn't trade it for anything in the world💛. #thisisourkochhome Hoping for an easier day today hehe. Today I woke up still reeling from this week's events. I tried to stay offline for the majority of the yesterday because it was a little overwhelming. I wanted this post to have a light and happy caption but reality is, that as I squeezed baby A's chubby cheeks, I couldn't help but feel scared and sad for him and my Lucas. I don't know what world my children will be living in when they're older, but I do hope that it is better. This is not the world I want for them. This is not the world that I want them to grow up in. This shouldn't be our norm. This just shouldn't be, period. We have to do better, for them, by them. Our children deserve better, so don't look down, dont look away, don't stay silent. This is not the time to stay silent and do nothing. Speak up, rise up. We've only got one world to live in, so we must make it one with unity, equality, respect, and celebration of ALL races. We must make it one for the celebration of humanity, because we're ALL part of the human race, despite our different skin colors, features, nationalities. This hatred needs to STOP. This just can't be the world my children, our babies grow up in, it just can't be😔. These are my thoughts this morning. I watch my babies smile and laugh and look at me as if I'm all that matters, as if I'm their entire world and that's all they need. I wish I could remain their world forever, but I know they too will grow up and face the real world on their own. I just hope it is a much better place than it is today💛. Happy Friday friends! We have been making some changes in our bedroom to accommodate for the cutest roommate ever😍. I don't know how long baby A will be sharing the room with us but for now we have decluttered and added some things to make it a happy shared space for the three of us.
