The first few months I found challenging, I was always questioning my own parenting skills because of what others said or I found myself explaining my reasons as to why I made the choices I did. Now… there is no reason for explaining or questioning my own skills. Most times people don’t mean it in a malicious, shameful or judgemental way it is typically just based off of what they know or what they’ve experienced and how it compares to how you choose to parent your child. However, those first few months you are so vulnerable and everything is so new that you aren’t really sure yourself that you know what you’re doing. It is so easy to fall into that place where you question your parenting skills, where you have to explain yourself or you just do what they said because it’s easier than trying to explain yourself. But trust me, you know your child best. One of the best parts of becoming a parent is choosing how you want to parent your child.
