😔 ONLY ONCE A WEEK…😔 This is what one of our clients answered when we asked how often she had washed lash extensions. We actually could tell that washing did not occur that often, but we did not expect “once a week” as an answer. Makeup, oil, dirt, and God knows what was on those lashes. Remember to wash your lashes daily with warm water and lash soap or baby shampoo. Otherwise, they might look like what you saw in the video.

🐿 SQUIRREL LOOK 🐿 Hailey was one of those clients who knows what she wants, as she is a lash artist herself and understands what suits her the best. So, we did exactly what she asked us to do: a Squirrel Look with a maximum 11 or 12 sizes. Squirrel Look is a great choice, if: ✅ you have wide-set eyes Wide-set eyes are identified when the distance between the eyes is greater than the width of the eye from corner to corner. The Squirrel Look can visually make eyes look a little closer to each other. ✅ you have downturned eyes As we use shorter sizes in the outer corners of the eyes, we lift the downturned corners of the eyes up. ✅ you have upturned eyes While using shorter sizes in the outer corners, we “neutralize” the raised corners of the eyes. 🥴 WHY DON’T YOUR LASHES LAST?🥴 There are multiple reasons for bad lash retention. Here are some important things that might help you to understand why your retention leaves much to be desired: ✅ you might need to switch from classic to volume The thickness of a single lash we use is 0.15 mm., while the thickness of a volume lash is 0.07. Classic is almost twice as thick as volume. This is the reason why volume lashes usually last better: it is easier for your natural lashes to hold lighter extensions. ✅ you might be using too much makeup Remember! Everything you put on or around your eyes will be in your lashes, including concealer, foundation, and mascara on the bottom lashes and the worst - EYELINER. If you use makeup, please, make sure you wash it off with warm water and lash soap or baby shampoo. Wash your lashes at least once a day! ✅ we might need more time for your fills Every client is different. Some have a lot of natural lashes; others, not as many. This is the reason why we tend to spend more time than we have to make sure that all natural lashes have extensions. Not 70%, not 80%. Only 100%. ✅ your extensions are too long Remember! The shorter your extensions are, the better they last. ✅ it might be allergy season During allergy season we tend to rub our eyes more often as they constantly feel itchy. That’s normal. As soon as allergies are gone, the retention will improve. ✅ your lash artist might be doing a bad job. This is always a possibility. Lash artists have different levels of experience. The more we lash, the better we become! ✅ it might be sensitive glue Sensitive glue has fewer chemicals in it and gives off less in fumes, which is good for the eyes, but not as good for lash retention. Responsibilities are divided equally as well! Anna is responsible for: ✅ paying rent ✅ paying all the bills ✅ paying salary to Violet and Mary ✅ ordering supplies for the salon Daria is responsible for: ✅ doing Instagram ✅ cleaning ✅ doing the website ✅ doing marketing campaigns All the decisions are usually made together unless Anna is choosing the soap scent… In this case she usually doesn’t call me.😜 Most of you know Violet - our incredible online receptionist! She answers the calls and messages. By the way, Violet is also an incredible photographer. 🖤 BROWN IS NEW BLACK! 🖤 Brown lashes are the most important invention of humanity, after the iPhone and the wheel. 🤣 Most of the lash extensions in the world are black. But! For someone who has light hair, light eyes, and lighter skin tones, black extensions might be too dark. So, brown extensions might be a good idea for you, if: ✅ it is your first time and you want your lashes to look natural ✅ you are blond ✅ you have light eye color ✅ you feel that black extensions are too much for you. By the way: we can switch you from black to brown and back at any lash fill. Just let us know. Have you tried brown extensions before? What do you like more: black or brown?

😍 $50 FOR A FULL SET😍 Have you seen those places? Usually they have bright pink or green hand-written signs and are usually nail salons. Remember? Lash artists take time to apply extensions, just like food takes time to be prepared. There are 4 main reasons for this: ✅ you might have a lot of natural lashes. As we apply extensions on top the natural lashes you have, it takes time. ✅ lash separation is a tricky and time-consuming procedure. If a lash artist does not separate lashes well, they may get glued together. You can see that in the pictures. ✅ specific looks (Kim K, Foxy etc.) require thoughtful consideration and imagination, which takes time as well. ✅ the conditions in the room might not be perfect for the glue, which will result in more time taken. So if a place promotes lash extensions for $50 and it takes them only 40 to 60 mins to apply them, be super super SUSPICIOUS!!! Have you ever done a full set for $50? How was it?

🌵 DRY AS A DESERT 🌵 That’s how we describe the skin on the eyelids during allergy season. The eyelids are patchy, itchy, and - flaky. It feels as if there is a ton of cakey makeup or something! You constantly want to wash it off or scratch the hell out of them…🤯 Each spring, summer and fall, plants release tiny pollen grains to fertilize other plants of the same species. And humans, as representatives of other species, they might be allergic to them.🤣 Remember! Pollen is one of the most common triggers of seasonal allergies! 🌼 LASH STAGES IN THE REAL LIFE 🌼 Likes are greatly appreciated! 😉 There is no secret that hair on our body has different hair cycles (aka stages). This is the reason why all the hair doesn’t fall out at the same time. 🤣 On the second picture you can see all three stages: ✅ anagen (active growth) In this phase, the hair is attached to the dermal papilla which ‘feeds’ the lash. These tiny lashes are also called baby lashes. ✅ catagen (transition) In this phase, the hair follicle contracts and detaches from dermal papilla. ✅ telogen (resting and shedding) In this phase, lashes rest while the new baby lashes begin to grow inside the follicles and the old lashes shed naturally. ✍🏻 Lash growth is the main reason why it is so important not to glue lashes together. Lashes are moving up (growing) with different speeds. The faster lash will always pull out the slower one… pics by @be.my.summer ♥️
