Лучший вид на старый город, первый кабак, наводнение 1908 года и купеческий быт, все это относится к одной из самых старейших и дорогих улиц Москвы. По поводу происхождения слова Балчуг историками ведутся споры. Кто-то говорит, что "бал-чех" пришло к нам из татарского диалекта, в котором оно означает грязь и действительно здесь раньше было болото, кто-то, что этимология этого слова восходит к древнерусскому "балчук", которое значило "рыбный привоз, базар" - и он тут тоже был. Можно сказать, и я некоторым образом причастен к истории этой улицы. В самом начале 2000-х, когда я только начинал свой трудовой путь, мне пришлось работать в CMI Development, компании, которая на паритетных началах с "СТ Балчуг" подконтрольной Шалве Чигиринскому занималась сроительством "Балчуг Плаза". Но что-то я отвлекся... по легенде, в 1552 году Иван Грозный открыл на острове первый питейный дом в России, названный по-татарски кабаком. История здания отеля "Балчуг" берет свое начало в конце позопрошлого столетия, когда семья купцов-старообрядцев Осиповых выстроила четырехэтажный доходный дом на углу у Москворецкого моста. A significant event happened in the Moscow Zoo this spring! The wonderful bamboo bears became residents of our metropolis🐼 They undoubtedly became the main captors of the smiles of visitors to the zoological garden and I could not help but share such a cutie – the cultural symbol and object of national pride in China. Zamoskvorechye has one of the most gratifying ambiences among the districts of old Moscow. The history of this area has been going on for more than six centuries - but time seems to be in no hurry at all here. Zamoskvorechye was the birthplace of Ivan Shmelev and Alexander Ostrovsky; Fyodor Dostoevsky and Anna Akhmatova lived here, while Mayakovsky and @therealguf have sung praise to it in their poems. The quantity and quality of its landmarks could well be envied by your average European city: located in Zamoskvorechye are the Tretyakov Gallery, the Marfo-Mariinsky Convent, various writers' house-museums, art and historical museum collections, public gardens, fountains, etc... Thanks to the fact that in the 1960-70's the area was given the status of a reserve, the historical buildings of the 18th and 19th centuries were more or less preserved here. One cannot but recall the club life of the late 90's and early 2000's, when many projects became style icons that no one will ever be able to replicate, and their parties were comparable to the best clubs in Ibiza; even now my favorite @communitymoscow is located locally. After re-reading Bulgakov’s immortal work, I can’t shake the feeling that the fifth «Gospel of Woland», included in the text of the novel, seems to repeat basically what most of us know about the contents of the New Testament. There are, of course, some discrepancies, but the novel is not «Holy Scripture», and its author has the right to an artistic interpretation. It would seem that way... Most young people today learn something about God, about Satan, about the history of humanity’s relationship with each of them, and about Christ and His teachings – not from theological treatises and from school or college philosophy courses, but from the novel «The Master and Margarita» by Mikhail Bulgakov, besides children's cartoons, Dan Brown’s books and the gospel drama directed by Mel Gibson. And on the basis of this novel each of them consciously or unconsciously chooses which of the two he/she prefers to be in harmony with📚 When one re-reads the novel, one begins to understand that it is not dedicated to Yeshua at all, and not even to the Master with his Margarita, but primarily to Woland, who undoubtedly is the main character of the work; his primacy is affirmed initially by the epigraph to the first part: «I am part of that power which eternally wills evil and eternally works good»🧶 These words of Mephistopheles are designed to reveal the ambivalence of the devil’s nature, supposedly ultimately aimed at creating good. Indeed, in essence, Satan acts in the world only to the extent that he can by the allowance of the Almighty. Remember the words in @bgrebenshikov song “Sitting on a beautiful hill” – “I often see dreams, and this is what seems to me: That it’s not about money, and not about the number of women, and not about old folklore, and not about the New Wave..."? Really, the older you get, the more often you ask yourself the question – what is the proverbial meaning of life? Each of us is unique, but there is not a single life in which there are no dreams, desires and goals, because we all move towards something in our existence, it is important for us to achieve something, and none of us want to be living in vain. Why does this happen? When creating a new life, the Universe gives a person a set of resources, usually this includes a pair of arms and legs, a brain, a set of personal qualities, some kind of crappy character, a number of basic skills, and, well, life itself. And here we come to the most basic human need, which is the foundation of everything, and by that I mean the need to realize ourselves. The desire to achieve something and to arrive somewhere is the thirst to satisfy the need for self-realization. After all, initially no meaning of life exists; we invent the meaning for ourselves in order to be able to discover ourselves. I do not claim knowledge of the whole truth, but I think that any worthwhile meaning is subordinated to five basic principles – development, searching, creation, servitude and love. In an effort to understand how one may find the meaning of life, it is important to listen to one’s desires, because among them is what we are looking for. Almost everybody knows the famous quote by Nathaniel Emmons: “Habit is either the best of servants or the worst of masters”. But how does one actually put into practice the idea that habits serve, not enslave us? And is it possible to influence the formation of habits? Not so long ago, I had to take my car to a service and, as a result, to drive another representative of the German car automobile industry for a couple of weeks and everything was so... I can’t say that it was bad, but it was different, which means it was unfamiliar. Each of us has a variety of habits - good, bad, necessary and unnecessary. Some of them help us in life, others ruin it, and if any changes are coming, then we have to break our established habits and change the way of life we had become accustomed to. On the other hand, if everything is stable, smooth and uneventful, then we see no reason to change our habits. After all, they tell us how to live, how to behave and how to relate to certain people or life situations. In other words, most of our actions, deeds and motives are tied to pleasing our habits and not violating our usual way of life. And now for the most important thing: everybody likes the reliability of the familiar and if you want your future to be qualitatively different from your past, it is very important to get used to it first, since today's actions are tomorrow's habits. There once was a city where people lost their peace. To be more precise, they lost their goodness. For days, all the inhabitants of the city and famous sleuths searched for it. They interrogated everybody: “Who was the last to see the goodness? Where was it?” But it turned out that no one even remembered what goodness was and what it meant to do good deeds. The people thought it was the Evil Magician who stole their goodness and carried it to his dark castle, but where that was, no one knew. The people decided to ask for the counsel of the Sage who lived on the highest mountain. They started on their journey. At first, the road was easy and everyone was in a good mood. But, gradually, it got harder. After a day and a night they found themselves near an old abandoned house. They decided to stay there for a short while. Someone went to get firewood, and someone else gathered mushrooms. They made a fire, put a pot on it, and sat around it in silence to keep warm. So the night passed, and in the morning they were on their way. Sometime later they came to a clearing in the forest and saw an old cart right in the middle of it. “Let's fix this cart,” one of them said, “We will put those who cannot walk anymore in it; then we can move faster.” So they did. And they went on. When they had almost reached the place where the Sage lived, all at once it became dark and very cold. A strong wind blew, and there was a downpour. So they sat in a circle, huddling together and hugging. This way they warmed up a little, and they were not so scared and cold. Suddenly, it became bright and warm once more. They moved on. Lo, the lodge of the Sage. The Sage was standing on its doorstep, as if waiting for them. The people knelt before him, asking for help in their misfortune.
