2016 is the year of Ferruccio’s 100th birthday, so to mark the milestone, Lamborghini built a limited-production supercar as a tribute to the company’s founder. The Centenario, was reportedly shown to prospective buyers as a 3D hologram model during the 2015 Monterey Car Week and has now officially made its debut at the Geneva auto show. Only 20 units in coupe form and 20 units in roadster form will be built, with all 40 units already spoken for prior to its debut.

After Alfa Romeo’s 1995 withdrawal from the American market, they marked their return with its 8C Competizione, a limited-edition coupe that heralded the brand’s North American revival when it became part of the Fiat group, joining Ferrari and Maserati. Only 500 coupes would be built, with an additional 500 spiders also available – both of which quickly sold out. Only 90 coupes were earmarked for the United States.
The Competizione was based on a concept car that was first shown at the Frankfurt Motor Show in 2003, the twin-seater was designed to tout Alfa's grand racing heritage. The 8C nameplate was one of the first to gain real credibility among aficionados, while the designation, Competizione, is a nod to the 6C 2500 Competizione driven to second place by the legendary five-time Formula One World Champion Juan Manuel Fangio with Zardi at Italy’s famed Mille Miglia in 1950.
Without a doubt the most breathtaking car to come out of Alfa Romeo in recent memory, the 8C Competizione can be counted amongst the most beautiful cars built this century. A sure-fire modern-day collectible, it is a car that will continue to be adored and appreciated for years to come.

The first Toyota Supra was sold for $2.1 million at the Barrett-Jackson auction in Scottsdale, Arizona, with proceeds benefiting the American Heart Association and the Bob Woodruff Foundation. This car, finished in matte gray with red mirror caps and matte black wheels, has a red interior. It also has a VIN ending in 20201, for the year of the Supra's reintroduction and a 1 for its status as first Supra off the production line "GR" and "Launch Edition". Those first two letters stand for Gazoo Racing, Toyota's performance face for winning Le Mans, World Rally Championships, and, now, developing the Supra's dynamics around the Nürburgring. In fact, it was Akio Toyoda's Nürburgring drive in the old Supra that convinced him to summon a successor.

It wouldn’t be a complete tuning program without some optimizations underneath the hood where the 5.5-liter V8 has been upgraded from 571 horsepower (420 kilowatts) to 700 hp (515 kW). The package for the G63 bumps torque to 709 pound-feet (960 newton meters) from the standard 561 lb-ft (760 Nm). The extra punch cuts the 0-62 mph (0-100 kph) sprint by half a second to just 4.9 seconds, while top speed increases by 19 mph (30 kph) to 149 mph (240 kph). BMW, though, got the cruel idea to play a prank on enthusiasts and decided to use the pickup as an April Fools' joke. Spy shots of the vehicle running around the Nurburgring surfaced and BMW even went so far as to release a press release for the vehicle. In a similar fashion to the original prototype, the pickup is used as a workshop transport car.
We know that German engineers are very serious by nature, so we can believe that the pickup is 50 kg lighter than the convertible version of the car, while removing the Targa roof shaves off a further 20 kg and lowers the car’s center of gravity. They even took the time to make it road-legal, but it will probably be a one off that never makes it into production.

Fifty years after Ford won the 1966 24 Hours of Le Mans with the GT40, they unveiled their new GT at the 2015 North American International Auto Show in Detroit with the intention of claiming a class victory at the Circuit de la Sarthe in 2016, to great fanfare within the automotive community. While the 2005 Ford GT was a retro-inspired homage to the original GT40, the new GT was a futuristic interpretation using cutting-edge design elements throughout its construction.
The new GT engine is based on the 3.5-liter V-6 engine from Ford’s best-selling F-150 but with upgraded turbos, an aluminum intake manifold, unique camshafts, and a custom dry-sump lubrication system. Being race-bred, the car sits on a pushrod suspension system using active aerodynamics with a hydraulically adjustable rear wing. Power is put to the road through a seven-speed dual-clutch gearbox.
Ford has planned for only a single-car-per-day production assembly to ensure each GT is up to their utmost standards. The initial allocation process for the GT was extremely selective, with owners having to apply to Ford, proving their case for why they should be allowed to buy the GT. After an agonizing wait, the owner of this GT was one of the lucky few who were able to buy one of the first examples.

An icon of 1950’s motoring, the Porsche 356 Speedster has been plucking at enthusiasts’ heartstrings since the day it debuted. Making a comeback for the G-Series, 964, and even a handful of 993-generation 911s, the Speedster body style was always one of the most desirable models in the range and a car that always kept Porsche in touch with its roots. For the 997 generation of 911, the new Speedster was introduced at the 2010 Paris Motor Show and true to its roots, it was considered an instant, modern-day collectable.
Using the Carrera GTS as basis with the Powerkit-equipped 3.8-litre flat-six at its heart, the Speedster came equipped with virtually every available option, including the Sport Chrono package, carbon-ceramic brakes, and the PASM suspension. Porsche’s Exclusive department seized the opportunity to use the Speedster as a showcase of its capabilities, and it came with a number of special features to showcase their capabilities. This included Fuchs-style wheels, a 70-millimetre shorter windshield, black seats with a chequered flag pattern, a unique aero kit, and contrasting stitching throughout, as well as a number of contrasting trim panels and Speedster-specific motifs. Since 1993, Ferrari Challenge has been where passionate, amateur enthusiast drivers race against like-minded racers on some of the most iconic race tracks in the world in identically-prepared Ferrari Challenge race cars. The Series began with the 348 Berlinetta Challenge and was used until the F355 Challenge began service in 1995 and was raced until 2000. The Series continues on and now races the 488 Challenge and remains a popular stage for displaying ones prowess in competition driving. When it was launched, the F355 was an instant success: its 109 bhp/litre is translated into motion by a transverse closely geared six-speed manual transmission. Like the Challenge offered here, the early models were essentially road cars with cage mounts fitted and carpets removed. Owners then equipped a $30,000 factory-to-dealer kit which included racing seats, a lightweight exhaust, Brembo brakes and other racing essentials to make their cars competition ready, as dealers were expected to provide support to the owner/drivers.

The GT was a road-legal product of the Diablo GT2 racing program and featured the extensive use of carbon composites, as well as a suite of track-honed powertrain improvements, setting it poles apart from the concurrent Diablo SV.
Even by the standards of Sant'Agata Bolognese’s engineers, the new carbon-fibre bodywork was aggressive. A new front air dam, enormous rear diffuser, and bespoke rear wing all saved weight and improved the aerodynamics, whilst widened front sections allowed for better suspension geometry to improve handling. Indeed, only the scissor doors and roof were retained from the existing model. The mechanical aspects of the car were also intensely fettled. Two-wheel drive replaced the heavier four-wheel drive system, and the V-12 engine, now breathing through a roof-mounted snorkel intake system, was enlarged from 5.7 to 6.0 litres.
Other improvements included a centrally mounted twin racing exhaust, titanium con rods, a lightweight crankshaft, and revised engine management electronics. Lamborghini was so confident of the car’s performance that they proclaimed to be “the fastest production car in the world.
