Well well well happy Sunday with a new post😉. It seems to be a great start for a day to speak about one of the most beautiful buildings in our beloved 💕#Vienna📍. ℹ️Rathaus was built in the end of the 19th century🕯, but the competition between different variants of its construction took place in 1868🤔. Friedrich von Schmidt appeared to be the winner💁🏻‍♂️🏆! It took him 1️⃣0️⃣ years to built the true #masterpiece of architecture. His name used to be so popular due to his virtuoso #genius💡, that the monument devoted to his mastery is now situated right in front of Rathaus. 🙌🏻 The #master and his work are bound together, captured in stone and marble. Isn’t it what we call a reward? But our favorite about Vienna city hall is the look of it’s towers, which are covered with amazing #sculptures, which number scares to be counted.🙀 The whole shape is headed by the statue of the Iron guard 🛡 (or he’d better be called the standard bearer🇦🇹), dressed in splendid armor. To say that it’s one of the greatest things ever built by a human being means to say almost nothing. Great thanks to @vienna_wheelchair_view , for reminding us about one of the greatest places in #Vienna🇦🇹, which is now, unfortunately, non-existing. Cafe’ Griensteidl was a few years ago replaced by #CafeKlimt, but still is mostly known by its FIRST name in many #guide-books 🧐. This magnificent place used to be an art point for artists🎨, poets📜 and musicians🎻 . But the time flows quickly, so now there are only pictures left for as to imagine the atmosphere of #creativeness and #freedom✨. ℹ️ The #photo of Viennese Opera doesn’t suite the text, but the topic of #Austrian #historical #heritage bands all the components of the post together, as far as I’m concerned. Moreover, we can no more take new photos of the amazing Cafe’ Griensteidl. And that’s the thing to be sorry about.

ONE MORE #UNEXPECTED #FACT 🙃🧐Notwithstanding the fact, that #England is established 💭 to be the birthplace of coffee house culture☕️, the «Viennese way» of spending time like this has always been claimed to be, what we call, #classic 👑. The #FIRST❗️cafe of this type was opened in Austria in 1683, 33 years after opening of the first coffee house in London📍. In the 1️⃣9️⃣th century Kaffeehaus(es) had already been playing a great role in everyday life of #Austria🇦🇹. What’s more, in 1720, the Kramersches Kaffeehaus appeared to be the first #cafe (in the world?) to offer newspapers🗞 for guests to read, while drinking a cup of amazing coffee. Btw, Viennese-style #coffee, as we know it, was invented due to the bitterness of the drinking, so Austrians 💡decided💡 to add some milk🍶 and sugar😌 to it. Moreover, it’s the second tallest🔝 church in Vienna🇦🇹.
